Clover is a gentle soul who makes the health of the party his first priority. He only resorts to offensive magic when his companions are threatened, and he rarely leads or initiates combat – most of the time, he hangs out near the back of the group, supporting the frontliners at a distance. He has a habit of hiding behind anyone taller than him when they encounter strangers.While he may seem frail and defenseless at first glance, Clover prides himself on being surprisingly self-sufficient when it comes to navigating the wilderness. Growing up in the snowy Skatay Range and partially undergoing Wood-warder training gave him valuable experience, so he is well-rounded: his survival skills include administering basic first aid (to compliment his healing magic), foraging for wild food, and navigating through difficult terrain. He makes delicious stews and soups using recipes he learned from his mother; he will add meat to them upon request, but he prefers them without it, and he will have to rely on a merchant or a party member to obtain the meat. It seems that some event in his past has rendered him unable to hunt, as he can stealthily approach a target with ease before freezing up.Most would assume Clover is an introvert based on his timidity, but he is actually a shy extrovert. Part of the reason why he hated the idea of being a Wood-warder was because he likes being part of a group, though he does not feel the need to contribute to conversations very often. He will sit and listen to anyone’s troubles without passing judgement, then offer his advice or consolation in a soft voice.

History

Early Life

Coeli was raised in a Veena village in the Skatay range and had a fairly normal childhood. As a kit, he was outgoing and had many friends. He liked playing in the snow, but he always wondered what it would be like to live in a warmer climate where flowers flourished.As he matured and it became apparent that he was a boy, all Coeli could feel was an impending sense of doom. When the time came for him to leave the village with the Wood-warders, he had to be dragged kicking and screaming from the arms of his best friend, Rena.To say that Coeli suffered during his Wood-warder training would be a massive understatement. He excelled when it came to finding medicinal herbs or edible plants, berries, and mushrooms; however, he lacked the courage to live on his own or attack outsiders.One day, Coeli's group of students were out on an excursion when they were suddenly attacked. He still refuses to discuss exactly what happened, only reiterating that he was left with no other choice but to flee the forest.As he was leaving the Skatay Range, Coeli came across a patch of clover growing and blooming thanks to the mountains’ melting snow. He took a moment to look through the patch, and he found a four-leaf clover. He wove the lucky clover and a few flowers into a bracelet before continuing on his journey. This later inspired him to take the city name "Clover," as he feels fortunate to have survived, while his last name "Snowthaw" honors both the snow-themed names of Veena males and the fact that he has left home.Clover made his way through the Golmore Jungle to Valnain, and after selling his extra possessions and taking a few odd jobs, he bought a ticket for a boat to Kugane. He first worked at Shiokaze Hostelry, but his knowledge of first aid eventually earned him a job assisting a local doctor. After the Calamity, he was inspired to learn healing magic, so he waited for the dust to settle before traveling to Gridania.Clover still has the clover bracelet from that fateful day, pressed neatly within a journal. He keeps it with him as a reminder of how far he has come, so no matter how scared he may be or how hopeless he feels, he knows that he is strong in his own way.

Clover's Hobbies	I keep a journal for pressing the flowers that I've picked throughout my journey. It's like a record of all the places I've been, so it's quite precious to me.
Living in Kugane	While I lived in Kugane, there weren't many other Viera, especially boys. The local children were always very curious about me, and they called me "Usagi."
Something to Share	I heard that only one in ten thousand clovers has four leaves. I wonder, how many are there in all of Eorzea?
Favorite Food	Berries are nice on their own, but they're even better in tarts or cakes. It's a shame that I'm not good at baking, otherwise I'd make some myself.
Least Favorite Food	If you want me to add meat to my stew, you'll have to do the hunting. I can't do it anymore...
Clover's Troubles	Your bravery is admirable, but don't be careless. Life is extremely precious.

Rumors

Shoulder to Cry On: A particularly observant individual might notice the stiffness in Clover's left shoulder or his slight wince whenever he moves his arm a certain way. He must have suffered a serious injury at some point, but it will take a lot of effort to get the story out of him.
~~Fish~~ Rabbit out of Water: In the Quicksand and surrounding alleys of Ul'dah, you may find a very anxious pink-haired Viera clutching his staff a bit harder than necessary. Perhaps you can offer him some assistance... or try to take advantage of his naivety.
